Land Surveyors, are dedicated to providing our clients with
accurate, cost effective and timely services across a full spectrum
of surveying and mapping applications. We make use of the latest technology
available, including robotic surveying, GPS, digital electronic total
station and data collection, and computer aided drafting using AutoCad
R14 and Soft Desk civil engineering software. We also maintain the
latest in computers, scanners and plotters, etc., and are capable
of transmitting digital drawings and data files electronically, on
CD, zip and floppy disks, or over the internet via modem or e-mail.
In 1949, John B. Van Dusen started a land surveying business in the Glens Falls-Lake George area. Leon M. Steves began working with him in 1954 and became a partner in 1981, when the company became known as Van Dusen & Steves. In 1984, John B. Van Dusen retired and Leon M. Steves became sole proprietor. In 1997, Van Dusen & Steves became a partnership between Leon M. Steves and his son Matthew C. Steves and on January 1, 1998 Matthew became sole proprietor of the business. Today Van Dusen & Steves is a full service land surveying company with a staff of 16 full time employees, dedicated to providing the highest quality of work available today. We also provide our clients with the option for independent in-house professional civil, structural, electrical engineering and landscape architect services to cover all phases of land development activity. Recent projects have included work for municipalities, schools, developers, contractors and private individuals across the entire upstate New York region.
