Company History

Van Dusen & Steves was established in 1949 as John B. Van Dusen Land Surveying, serving the Glens Falls/Lake George, New York area.  Five years later, Leon Steves joined the company after serving in the United States Air Force, during which time he was introduced to the science and art of surveying.  He became a partner in 1981 and the company adopted the new name of Van Dusen & Steves.

After John retired in 1984, Leon became the sole proprietor of the company and operated the business alone until his son, Matthew, became a partner in 1997.  Leon retired the following year and Matthew has since been the sole proprietor.
